MADISON, Alabama - The 24-inch water main break that affected roughly 2,500 Madison residents and forced Bob Jones High School and Discovery Middle School to close was repaired around 4:15 p.m. Friday.

Madison Utilities General Manager Ricky Pounders said repairs are complete and water pressure will gradually keep increasing overnight.

Pounders said crews were making improvements and adding additional water lines in preparation for the summer when the water main break occurred in the area of McAdoo Drive and Coveshire Place.https://c754d1f2410e7ab13a9db99fe5715357.safeframe.googlesyndication.com/safeframe/1-0-38/html/container.html

Pounders said the precautionary boil advisory will be lifted Saturday night and that the investigation surrounding the water main break will conclude as soon as next Tuesday.

"We don't want to drag our feet on this. Anytime you have a boil advisory, that's a very serious event," Pounders said.
